I’m a freelance writer and editor based in friendly Manitoba, Canada.
Over the past twenty years, I’ve written for trade and consumer magazines, business websites, blogs, newspapers, and book publishers, including National Geographic Traveler, Midwest Living, Canadian Lodging News, Simcoe Business Magazine, Bark, and MOON Metro.
I’ve worked as a reporter at a daily newspaper and as a copywriter for Chapters Online (now Indigo), Canada’s largest Internet bookseller.
My skills and experience include:
- exceptional grammar and language abilities
- finding and interviewing the best sources
- sourcing and/or creating images
- editing and proofreading
- features writing and brand journalism
I also know my way around WordPress and have experience with SEO and blogging.
A little bit more about me…
The initials after my name are B.A. (in English and Cultural Studies) and M.F.A. (in Creative Writing).
Before moving to Manitoba in January 2013, I taught creative, academic, and business writing at college and university while freelancing.
I live with my husband, a rescue dog, an asthmatic cat of undetermined age and the flock of pelicans that summers on the lake behind our house (but a lot of the time you’ll find me on the Internet).
And a teeny bit more…
Some of the best things in life: a swim in a freshwater lake, a hammock, a great book, pear cider on ice.
